چکیده

This paper deals with problems of computer networks survivability. We present and discuss survivability aspects of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and other services based on the anycast paradigm. After that, we propose a new unified approach to network survivability. This approach assumes using jointly survivability mechanisms for both kinds of traffic: anycast (oneto-one-of-many access to content servers) and unicast (one-to-one exchanging of data between individual users). We formulate a new optimization model for this scenario that can be used for development of algorithms. The optimization problem is NP-complete. The objective function is function of lost flow due to a failure of any single link. To our knowledge this problem have not received much attention in the literature. We provide also a numerical example to illustrate the proposed approach.

A Multi Objective Graph Based Model for Analyzing Survivability of Vulnerable Networks

In the various fields of disaster management, choosing the best location for the Emergency Support & Supply Service Centers (ESSSCs) and the survivability of the network that provides the links between ESSSCs and their environment has a great role to be paid enough attention. This paper introduces a graph based model to measure the survivability of the linking's network. By values computed for ...

A survivability framework for connection-oriented group communications

This paper presents a framework for providing survivability to group communications where part of the underlying trafsic layer infrastructure is connectionoriented. The framework is multi-layered to express the virtual overlays inherent to networked systems, describes survivability issues unique to group communications, and outlines tradeoffs between restoration techniques that can be extended ...

Optimal Coding Subgraph Selection under Survivability Constraint

Nowadays communication networks have become an essential and inevitable part of human life. Hence, there is an ever-increasing need for expanding bandwidth, decreasing delay and data transfer costs. These needs necessitate the efficient use of network facilities. Network coding is a new paradigm that allows the intermediate nodes in a network to create new packets by combining the packets recei...

Comparing the Effectiveness of Emotion-Oriented Therapy and the Unified Trans-diagnostic Treatment on Fear of Negative & Positive Evaluation of Patients with Social Anxiety disorder

Objective: Most of the research conducted so far on effective treatments for social anxiety disorder has used traditional cognitive-behavioral therapies. However, recent pathological theories emphasize the role of emotion regulation in the formation and continuation of the symptoms of this disorder. Thus, the study has been conducted to compare the efficacy of emotion- oriented therapy and the ...

Dehtions of Restoration Mechanism Availability and Their Applications

Networkhervice survivability is increasingly becoming important to customers, as well as telecommunication service providers and network operators. So survivability is an important problem demanding prompt solution in design and planning of new telecommunications networks (e.g., SDH networks and ATM networks). In the past a few years, different restoration mechanisms for SDH and ATM networks ha...
